Gym Memberships?

I would really like to go to a gym and work out, I'm not a huge fan of signing contracts (I'm not good at remembering to pay bills) and last night I went to a ladies fitness center who you had to sign a 3 yr contract and it's $70.48/month that is unlimited working out and tanning...which isn't bad except the contract, but they have 2 options with it you can put a freeze on your account if your not going to use it for a few months and it's transferrable....meaning you can transfer it to another person...How easy is it to transfer a membership like that? And I live in Tulsa Oklahoma if you could recommend a good fitness center.
Answer:
i currently am a member of a curves like place called changes for women its 41.00 something a month.. i'm switching my member ship to this other womens only gym which is 30 something a month.. so yeah that sounds expensive.. i'm sure if you look for other places you might find something cheaper
ymca's are no contract....
its a sliding scale price based on your income, so just go in there with your pay stub, and sign up!

No idea about the transferring... but just wanted to say I recommend LA Fitness 100% if you have one in your area (www.lafitness.com to check). No contract, monthly, you can freeze, and it has a bunch of ammenities (weight classes, spinning, kickboxing, yoga, pilates, water classes, step, abs, boxing, etc). It's only $35/mo.
Wow thats expensive for a ladies fitness center.
