What is a healthy weight for me?21 years old6' 2"Medium build.

Ideal weight isn't just based on your age and height.It's also based on your body structure.You can look at a chart but it may just be a waist of time.I'm 22,4'10 and my ideal weight is around 95lbs.My body structure however says I should be about 120-125.If you're concerned about your weight you should go to your doctor and ask what the weight for all three should be.Just remember it's called "ideal" for a reason.Don't hurt yourself trying to be the weight some stupid chart says you should be.Eat right,get good exercise and have plenty of fun getting in shape!!

well your pretty tall so your probably safe between 160-180

Help with weight loss?

i weight 140 pounds and i am 5"3 i would really like to lose 15-20 pounds and tone up by summer, meaning near the end of june.can anyone give me tips?? thanks =)

Start doing 3 - 5 sessions of cardio each week, with each session lasting for at least 30 mins. You can do anything that gets your heart rate up such as boxing, running, swimming, dancing, power walking, etc.Buy some light weights (3 or 4 pounds) and start doing some strength training as well - lunges, squats, pushups, bicep curls, tricep extensions, etc. Having muscle mass burns more calories than not having muscle.Eat more fresh fruit and vegies, whole grains, lean meat and fish. Stay away from fatty foods and takeaway, or at least limit what you have. Drink 2 liters of water a day and stay away from soft drinks as they are just empty calories.Limit the amount of processed foods you have (cakes, cookies, chocolate).

Help with strength workout!!!?

I have been working out for about 6 months really trying to gain muscle strength and endurance. I'm a 27 year old female. I can't get past 5 curls with the 50 lbs bicep barbel. when I started I could do 20 push up, now I can't get past 30. I need to be able to do pull ups and still can't even do one. I have no definition in my arms like I had hoped. Is this what they call a plateau? What can I do to boost my strength up? Am I missing a critical part of this?

Add more protein to your diet, particularly whey isolate and be sure to have a post workout protein drink (within 45 minutes of completing your workout) as this is the most critical period for recovery and growth. Without knowing your diet or exercise routine it is very hard to give you an accurate answer, but keep in mind that your body grows as a whole so you need to be exercising all the muscles in your body and it is preferrable to use compound exercises (involves the movement of two or more joints as opposed to isolation exercises, like curls). Compounds build mass, isolation exercises carve in the details.

are you mixing up the resistance training you are doing on the muscles? try pressing the bar or dumb bells for different results. Have you been working out your lats? most women can't lift their own weight doing a pull up anyway. What about assisted chin ups? also, you can try doing 3-5 sets of 8-10 reps at the max you can lift in order to tear the muscle so you get new growth and bigger muscle.
Look to your diet. Sounds like you are missing protein. Your body needs protein to rebuild the muscle you are tearing when you work out that hard. Your local gym should be able to recommend a dietitian who help you work out exactly what you need..

I have two months until my trip to china, with my chinese friend who keeps telling me her mom says she is fat now (she is 110 lbs and 5'5) So, since i'm going to china and im obviously going to stand out (im 5'9, 150 lbs) i want to lose some baby fat before i leave, because i DONT want to be known as the fat american friend. What should I use to lose this weight, because i have NO free time whatsoever (my school requires 4 hours of work a night, plus 80 hours community service a year, and 2 hour practices every day), i was thinking about diet pills but i need one that is not terrible for you, and that will help lose weight around the middle. DO NOT TAKE DIET PILLS! They are dangerous!!Last year I was visiting my parents and took diet pills (Leptopril -does not contain ephedra) on top on my exercise routine and normal diet. I was 26 at the time, 5'11, 180 lbs. By week three I was sick. I had diarrhea, dry heaves, dizziness, headaches, and a general feeling of being sick. I thought I had caught the flu or something. I had lost 13 lbs in 4 days. One morning I told my mom I didn't feel good. My vision kept blacking out and I felt (for lack of a better way to say it) stoned. Later that afternoon I was walking from the bathroom to my bedroom (a 5 foot walk) and I passed out. I was rushed to the hospital emergency where they did a bunch of tests on me.My pulse was up to 120, My blood pressure was 150/40, they had to start me on an IV, the did an EKG on me, took blood and urine samples, and a whole barrage of other tests.They finally got me stabilized and said that I was dehydrated and malnutritioned. I told him that I took diet pills. When I mentioned diet pill, the doctors face lit up and said that's why. He said they can cause a whole bunch of health problems, including death. He told me to toss the diet pills or next time I might not be so lucky.I was kept in the hospital for almost 10 hours, given 3 or 4 IVs, potassium, juices, and monitored (by the EKG, blood pressure, and heart rate machines) every 15 minutes.Please take my story as a warning. If you seriously want to loose weight there are better ways (I know because I've lost weight after this)The quickest way is to cut out red meats, starches, breads, sugars, alcohol, and sodas.Eat veggies (salads are good), soups, and drink TONS of water. If you get hungry between a meal, drink water to fill up.In moderation eat white meats, and fruits (fruits contain natural sugars, and that can put on weight)Practice portion control. Watching your diet will help, but exercise will help more. So walk to class and get up and move as much as you can.
Don't eat fast foods. Stay with yogurt, fruit and vegetables. Also drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Enjoy your trip.
first of all your not overweight. and who cares what the people in CHINA think. im not saying that to be ignorant but you will see those people once in ur life and never ever again. just be confident in how u look and feel. but if ur that concerned then u will find time to eat right and work out.

Help with pilates?

When they tell you to tighten your stomach, what does this mean? Also, sometimes when the instructer on the video is saying this should really be hurting, I don't feel it at all. I think this may be because I'm not really sure how to tighten my stomach. Is this right?

Pilate's is not an intense workout, your not sup post to get really sweaty or tired. When they say tighten your stomach it means push your stomach to your spine, so your back does not get hurt during the exercise. Pilate's is great for toning and sculpting but you should do another cardio workout with it to speed up the results, and because Pilate's burn little calories. Good luck.
Tightenening the stomach means to sort of exhale and allow the stomach to expand which makes it tighten.

Im hoping to loose weight for my wedding but the problem is a few years ago i was hit hard with a mental problem %26 now have problems leaving the house alone, meeting people and a big problem with the way i look.
I moved to my area 2years ago (in july) %26 i know no-one, but like i said i have problems meeting people.
I have 3 kids under 3 %26 no room in our house for exercising. I have no idea what to do.
I cant leave the house alone to go running %26 i cant meet people to do it with. I cant do it with my partner (long story).
I need a diet i can stick to easily to loose some weight then maybe i might have some confidence to go out to a gym at some point.
Another problem is i crave chocolate alot %26 things to munch on around 9pm. Oh %26 im slightly addicted to red bull and i smoke a bit.
GOD! im a bloody mess :o)
I havnt got loads of money to spend on books, websites or strange foods.

I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Help with Eating Disorders?

I am 14 years old, and I am obsessed with being skinny, not all the time but especially when I see stick skinny models walking down the runway. I think those models are very beautiful and some of them do look too skinny, but then again, some look just gorgeous. I am 5'7 and I weigh 105 lbs... I still (honestly) think I am too fat, although when I compare my weight to others its not...
When I look in the mirror, I dont see a fat person, but I dont see a stick person either.
I also think that people with a size 6 or up are 'fat'. I am a size 0 and I am very proud of it, although I do believe I can be skinnier and look better in the clothes I wear. This is not realy a question but I would just like to know, because whenever I try to say (or point out) to someone that I find those models beautiful they are like; No, too skinny, etc. I dont diet a lot, but would this be the behaviour of someone with an eating disorder??

If you eat normally and eat healthy foods as well as exercise regularly, then your problem is just your attitude and it's not reflecting in your behavior. It may eventually lead to an eating disorder, though that is not a guarantee. If you are really concerned about this, talk to your doctor and see if you should see a psychologist.What I don't understand is why anyone would want to be a stick figure. Women are supposed to have a little more fat on their bodies so they can bear healthy children. We're aren't supposed to be twig-people. Gaining weight as you get older is inevitable barring any terminal illnesses. A size 6 is still pretty small, you know... But whatever... to each his/her own. As long as you're not in peoples' faces telling them they're a "Fat Cow" when they are a size 7...

You don't have to be good at sports. Walking or jogging everyday is a great way to stay healthy. For example, going for a walk after dinner is a good way to burn some extra calories. Home aerobics videos can help too; the ones that you watch on your TV. Eat a good mix of vegetables and meat, and stop eating when you feel full. It takes 20 minutes for your body to realize that you are fed up, did you know that? Eat slowly, 10-15 chews per bite. The only way you are going to be able to lose weight is if want to change your life style. It is so difficult unless you really want it. You just need to set your mind to it. It is as easy as this:* Don't eat out often. If you do, make smart choices. (subway)
*Get rid of all the junk food in your house.-if it is not there-you wont be tempted. *Change your eating habbits. Eat smaller portions. I count my calories- that seems to work best for me because you can eat what you want. Just stay with in your calorie limit. *Treat yourself now and then-just don't over do it.
*Don't eat after 6:00 pm. - drink water-that will fill you up and it's good for you.
It is really important that you exercise. Once you get into it- you probably will enjoy it.-- exercising makes you feel better because it balances your hormones.
You don't have to be good at sports to exercise. Actually once you get in shape you probably will find something your really good at.-(practice makes perfect)

Help with building leg muscles?

Hey guys, I need a bunch of bodyweight exercises I can do to build muscle on my thighs, hamstrings and calves. I can use light weights, I have dumbells (up to 50 lbs) and a barbell up to 80 lbs. Any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest you go buy some more plates for your barbell. A pair of 45s should last you for a little while.For thighs I would reccomend: Back Squats (if you have a rack you can get under), front squats, lunges, one legged squats with dumbells.For posterior chain(hamstrings, glutes, lower back): Good mornings, deadlifts, romanian dead lifts, power cleans, snatches.Except for good mornings you can use dumbells with any exercise instead of a barbell.Calves: Stand on a step or block and hold a dumbell in one hand, do calf raises using just the foot on that side and balance with your opposite hand.Sprinting is also a great leg workout that releases alot of growth hormone.
You don't want to do raises daily, you need to give the muscle time to rebuild. But raises are an excellent exercise.

Can it damage the growth plate? 2. If you get hit in the backbone/spine, can it cause a dent in the vertebrate (if it could, could it stunt growth)? Can you misalign a vertebrate (if it could, could it stunt growth)? Can it slightly push it in (if it could, could it stunt growth)? 3. What are the symptoms for spinal cord injury and if it is very very slightly damaged what would happen to your body?4. What is the chance of damaging your spinal cord or one of the spine's vertebrate in order for you to stunt your growth? How damaged needs to be both of these to stunt growth (give examples plz).

I'll try to give you more specific answers.1. If hit hard enough, yes, growth plate can be damaged. Growth plates can be damaged by trauma if enough forces are used. But I don't think'll be easy to damage growth plate of a vertegra via punch. As far as causing scoliosis. It can case what's called antalgic scoliosis. That the lateral curvature of the curve due to pain or spasm and body trying to assume the nonpainful position. Usually, it's easy to treat as once pain sources is taken care of, curvature is self corrected.2. No..bones do not dent. If hit hard enough, you could fracture it. If the fracture is on growth plate, yes it can stunt growth. But not overall growth. Just that one segment of vertetra that was damaged. And yes you can misalign the vertebra that way. It's called anterolisthesis or retrolisthesis (slippage of vertebra forward or backward). Usual cause of the condition is trauma and you need to fracture the pedicles before this can happen. And no, this won't effect growth neither overall or segmental.3. Some of the symptoms for spinal cord injury includes thingling, numbness, shooting pain, weak muscles, fasciculation of the muscles, loss of organ function (bowel movement or bladder control for example)...but there are many conditions that mimic each of the above symptoms..so you shouldn't try to self diagnose. If any of the symptoms exist, go see a doctor.4. I'd rather not answer this one. Just too suspicious. It just doesn't do any good for anyone to know. If you suspect that you or someone you know may have spinal cord injury, please go to emergency room ASAP as any loss of function you may incur from spinal cord damage could be permanent if not treated within certain time frame.

If these injuries cause deformities that limit the ability of the body to supply oxygen and nutrients to the body, those parts that are deprived might not grow to their full potential, like crops that don't get enough water.Damage to the spinal cord (or even pressure on the cord from a damaged vertebra) can cause other portions of your body not to work correctly (or at all) because the commands to the muscles that control that area might not be getting through correctly (or at all). It's not easy to predict what damage/pressure will do because there are a lot of factors.Sorry to be so vague, but it's a hugely complicated subject, and hard to give general guidelines for... that sounds really interesting. you should focus on the emergence of fast food and it's effect on society. maybe compare/contrast families who primarily ate out versus those who chose to cook. there probably wasn't much research done on the effects of childhood malnutrition until the generation of fast-food-eating kids grew up. discuss obesity, diabetes, heart disease, anything that's been linked to malnutrition. if you're supposed to provide how a healthy diet prevents these health problems you'll need to focus on what specifically fast food has that is so harmful (lots of sugar and fat, preservatives, etc.) watch "super size me", it might give you some ideas for your research, but as an entertainment film i wouldn't use it as a resource. hope that helps.

Help my boyfriend out!?

My boyfriend has always had stretch marks on his booty, however since he gained a good 30 pounds he his stretch marks have reached all around his beer belly and his back. I feel bad for him because even though I don't mind I notice that he is intimidated to take off his shirt when we go to the beach, please help! The stretch marks on his stomach are protruded than the ones on his booty, what can he do about them? If he was to loose weight would they go away? are they there forever?

They probably won't go away completely, but they would be less noticeable and you can get various skin products to try to make them go away. Plus, speaking from experience, the belly is probably more of a personal reason for not wanting to take his shirt off at the beach than the stretch marks are. I'm sure if he lost some weight this would be much less of a problem and the stretch marks would be much less noticeable. Have him get on a proper diet and start lifting weights. Once he gets down to a healthy weight you can worry about the stretch marks. The stretch marks aren't going to affect his long term health...however, being overweight puts him at risk for numerous long-term health issues as well as short term issues such as developing diabetes.

First of all, there is no magic pill for weight loss. If there was, there would not be overweight people. Losing weight is not something that you can just beg for help for and then it happen. You need to be talking to yourself. You have to be the one to want to make the change, set your mind to it and get it done. Second of all, STOP BLAMING GOD! He is listening, he is always listening. Just because you are not getting the answers that you think you should does not mean that he is not listening. Open your heart to him, open your mind to him and he will show you the way for everything. Give your life to God and the rest will fall into place. I am not saying that you won't have bad days and that you won't struggle at times. But those days are all part of God's plan for you. I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me. Also start counting your calories. Write them down. You would be amazed as to how much more aware you are of your caloric intake, if you actually write it down. We recently discovered a site that offers a great program that counts calories, as well as keeps track of everything. It allows multiple users, so everyone in the family can keep track. You can easily get rid of constipation by drinking 5 litres of water daily. Out of this 5 ltrs, drink half the quantity in the morning in empty stomach immeditely after getting up from bed without brushing or performing other morning ablutions. You're not overweight by much. What I would do is just some toning, yoga, kick boxing, or anything fun that you like to do. Even walk around the mall with friends, or sports you like to play. Give yourself a week to prepare before you start to exercise which will give you motivation to start. Look up some sports/exercises you heard about that sound good to you. If it's something fun, it will motivate you.

First of all you are not really overweight...go to the library and get the South Beach Diet book. It is a good plan of healthy eating to help you achieve your goals. Motivation is always hard to come by....for all of us....If you can't eat healthier try walking every day or taking steps often. Doing pushups during TV commercials is a great way to burn tons of calories!
Set a realistic goal of losing 3 pounds a month. That way, you don't have to be too strict with yourself.

Don't worry so much about a few pounds. Try to be more active ... pick a sport or an activity that you enjoy, and that you can share with others. It also helps to have a group of people being active together, that way you can help motivate each other.When I was at my old job, a group of us went running together. I got my weight down and even completed a half-marathon. I don't have that support group now, so I've put on about 20 pounds. It's harder trying to exercise and diet by yourself, get a support group!Good luck!

That goal in near impossible and unhealthy. I'm 14 and over weight but I go to the gym 3-5 times a weeks and use the treadmill,the bike and i do some weights! Be careful what you do with weights because of developing boneplates. Also make sure to look at your carb intake and remebr to subtract the dietry fiber from the total carbs! And also watching how much you eat in one meal try eating breakfast and 5 other small meals but nothing past 8pm and you should wake up hungry in the morning.Following theese guidelines in a month i lost 7 pounds. Remeber to ALWAYS drink water and take a bottle with you to the gym!

I have been fighting with weight on and off again for about the last 2 yrs, I was involved in an ATV accident back in 04' so I was no longer allowed to play sports or keep active and became really depressed in which I gained about 45 lbs which is a lot for me... what i have done is probably the easiest thing ever, I cut back on fast foods and un healthy snacks, I basically combined 3 different diets.In the morning I have some kind of special K breakfast either a serving size of cereal or a Special K granola bar, with some fruit and a glass of milk, and if I鈥檓 really hungry ill have a Dannon Light %26 Fit yogurt (Which is 0% fat, 0 added sugar, and its only 60 calories.For lunch while at work ill have a Lean Cuisine TV dinner with fruit, Water, Yogurt (if I did not have one in the AM) And a special K snack either the snack bites, or a granola bar (once again depending on what I had in the AM)...For dinner I add up the calories I have had for the day and eat basically whatever I feel like eating that does not go over 1200 calories. On a good day ill have about 1000 to 1100 calories a day, but NO MORE then 1200.I do this from Monday thru Saturday...Then on Sunday ( if I feel like it) i have a bad day in which I really truly do not care what I eat
With this I have a gym membership so I work out as much as i can but from the accident and my injuries I鈥檓 only able to do stuff that does not injure my back because i do have 2 herniated disc so I basically just run on the tread or walk at a fast rate for 45 minutes to an HR.. I love the diet because, well I can't cook well and its very easy and I have lost more weight then I think I did well playing basketball all thru-out high school.

sit ups wont work it wont burn fat it will only bulk your abs, drik water, and sprint. SPrints burn more fat that anything, i weighed 191 lbs at first day of football practice i now weigh 169 lbs because i have been doing HIT - High Intensity training, which includes sprints, sprints uphill, Tempo Runs, Fartlek, Intervals. Tempo is your normal jog but faster.
Fartlek is were you run and you pick out an object say a mail box sprint to it then start joggin pick another object sprint to it..etc..
Intervals - say you sprint 25 yards then you walk or jog 25. Hope this helps. :)
Well, for starters just drink water. Sure it doesn't taste as good, but you'll have more energy and keep your body flushed out and hydrated better. Buy a bottle of water, keep it and refill it when you are done.
What you eat doesn't impact you as much as how much of what kind of food you eat. Once you are satisfied, stop eating! Gorging yourself will only stretch your stomach and make you want to eat more the next time (this takes some time, but that is essentially what happens).
Pork is a good meat because it satisfies you (makes you think you are full) better than red meat. Chicken can be bought cheaply and is good as long as you know the basics of cooking. Buy your meat and fresh veggies/fruit at a name brand store or butcher shop, but your "stock" items can be bought safely at a discount grocery store (milk, potatoes, bread, peanut butter, canned veggies, cereal, etc).
Obviously you have internet access, look for easy healthy food/meals. Might take a little time to adjust but once you get used to making cuts, it will get easier.
Don't waste your money on soda. Drink water from the tap. If you dont have water in your new home I'm sure somebody nearby does- you fill up water containers there. Also dont buy food at the conveinance store go to an actual grocery store. You'll get cheaper food. You can buy things to make sandwiches. It's a cheap way to eat that is pretty healthy. Your not getting in proteins or much nutrition from eating junk at the conveinance store and that's probably why your losing muscle mass.

You should try vinaigrette dressing, which is tastier and much lower-fat and calorie than ranch in any form. Juice is a bad choice. That's just as bad as soda, really, because of all the sugar. If you want something with some flavor, try tea, especially green tea. Yogurt, while good for providing calcium, is high-calorie and non-filling. Salads are good. Pretty much any vegetable. Fruits are good as well. One banana is pretty filling and provides plenty of potassium. Vitamin water is only hyped up because it's got vitamins in it. If you're getting enough day-to-day, you don't really need it.

sounds like u've reached a plateau. u're not gonna lose much more because u're doing the same thing u did to lose the first 10kg. now u've got to add something else. try lifting small weights, either free weights, or adding walking weights while u walk/run. u should also consider a treadmill if u don't like people to see u. i personally enjoy doing workout videos. u could do this in the privacy of your own home in addition to your walking.

Spend a little time to educate yourself about nutrition. just try to eliminate most of the fats and processed sugar from your diet...try cooking more of the food you eat. Diet pills are a scam...forget them. Walking is the best exercise to start with. It is easy to do and does not require any special equipment. Start with 20 to 30 minutes at a time, 4 days a week. Go just a little faster than normal at first, and gradually increase your speed. Work up until you can walk two minutes and run two minutes. Drink plenty of water during the day...it has no calories and helps the body burn fat. The best advice is to be patience..give yourself time to lose the weight properly. You did not gain this weight in a month and you will not lose it in a month. Be diligent with the plan of diet and exercise and give it about 6 months to reach your goal...You are not just talking about losing weight, but changing your lifestyle. Good luck

I feel your pain. I'm 36, 30, 41. I recently lost 20 lbs and from that...3" came off each thigh. HOWEVER...my boobs have reduced as well. I really don't have any great advice other than this: I think we'll always have our pear shape. In a way it's a good thing because we're at less risk for heart disease. Just realize that your measurements are small, you're probably a size 5? So having a pear shape at size 5 is a LOT more attractive than having a pear at size 16. So be proud of yourself and learn to love what you have! You could always try doing something like Leslie Sansone's Walk away the pounds. It would still produce an allover weightloss with possibly a more toned, muscular look to your legs and arms. Hope that helps!

First of all, you have to really really really want to lose weight, not just say you want to, otherwise you just wont. If you see food and it just makes you want to eat it- Have some self control girl for gods sake. what are you doing to yourself, you cant just eat everything you see, just think at the time of seeing the food of just how skinny you want to be and just exactly where that piece of chocolate or whatever is going to go- straight on the parts you really dont want it to. so when you see that tempting food- just get out of there. also you should never go food shopping hungrey- eat a piece of fruit- and drink a big glass of water before you go. As for foods to eat and not to eat. minimise carbs after breakfast, have muslie with orange juice and a piece of toast for breaky- no more bread at all for the rest of the day. for morning tea you should have a low fat yoghurt and a piece of fruit- either orange or apple, they have less carbs (By the way, carbs stack on the kilos if your not excerising) lunch should be a salad with tuna or chicken, whatever you prefer, try not to have bread...afternoon tea should be another piece of fruit and dinner should be protein, so fish, chicken, small piece of red meat and loads of green veges. stay clear of pototo and pumpkin for a while. if you have to have it, only a small amount. With excerise., you should be aiming to do this 4 times a week for about 1 hour each time. combine weights with cardio and you want to tone up as you are losing weight. i suggest you join a gym and get a personal trainer, this is what i do and it is well worth the money cause they will be able to tell you exactly what to do to lose the weight!!! if you dont want to go to a gym, walking is very good, but make it a fast pace, or you could try intervals, run for 30 secs and fast pace walking for 1 minute, keep doing this untill you are absolutley buggered, try to increase the time everytime you do it. toning excerises like lunges and squats are very very good- a must if you want great toned legs and butt!!! doing crunches and ab exercises will not help you achieve your "flat stomach." it will help you get nice abs once your stomach is flat though. to get a "flat stomach" you'll have to do a combination of cardio, like walking, jogging, swimming, etc. i suggest around 30 minutes for around 3 days a week at least . then you might want to do some ab exercises like crunches as well to make your stomach look nice after its "flat."

I read that for a flat stomach you need to make sure you're getting enough sleep, something to do with not enough sleep means you're hungrier the next day. Also make sure youre eating rellay healthily, and do a load (not too much) of sit ups each day along with other exercise. Just dont overdo it and dont starve yourself. Sit ups really work your stomach, ive found they helped me. Also try holding it, so when youre halfway through a sit up, just hold it for as long as you can. If you dont normally exercise dont go rushing into loads of exercise straight away though. :)
start jogging 1 mile a day for about a week, then run about 2 miles a day and do 4 sets of 25 situps in the morning as well at night. don't do too much situps because your stomach won't flatten it will just bulge out because the muscle is being over worked.

Do some cardiovascular exercise (running for instance) I'm not anyone certified but those are just somethings that i know of. Maybe you could get your parents to get a trainer.

You should also see a registered dietician and join another sport or dance at school. Don't expect miracles or to be tiny by the summer. The most important thing is to get you healthy and fit. You have to clean up your diet. That means no fried chicken, pizza or burgers. The most important thing you can do with an increase diet is running. After about 10 min of running do 10 pushups and 10 situps. then run again. This is a ultimate fat buring workout.

Help a 16 YEAR OLD lose weight plz?

Hi, i'm 16 years old and startin to care about l0o0ks now. I'm overweight, i know i can lose it but im really lazy. Well, I rather just chill at home then go to the GYM durr but i know if i want to get losin weight i better get my az off the couch! well, i need motivation like when i think of the gym i think of pain, suffer, etc i hate it and i get too tired easily. What should i do. plz suggestion

The gym isn't the only option - if you like playing a sport, or would like to, then get into it! Team sports can be great for motivation and they can be lots of fun too. You can go for walks and take someone along to chat to, or take simple classes like yoga - lots of gyms also do fun classes.
I have lost 35 lbs in the past 4 months - here is what I do:Breakfast - Bowl of Special K (I vary the varities) with a bananna or 1 cup of berries.Lunch - Lean CusieneAfternoon snack - 1 100 calorie snack packDinner - small portion of chicken breast ( usually about 1/2 of those huge ckn breasts with 2 cups of steamed veggies or a large salad 3 cups or so with salad spritzer dressing.Need a snack at night? Keep it light - 100-200 caloriesI exercise by doing cardio at least 3 times a week for at least 25 minutes at a time. if you look up the lemonade diet. it works extremely well!!!! i lost 2lb a day. no lie. the only hard part is you don't eat. you drink a mixture of lemonade, cayenne perpper, maple syrup, and water. it is also healthy so look it up. i lost 22 lb but gained back 6. i lost 16lb in 3wk healthy. no lie
If you don't mind doing some exercise but don't want to sweat, try doing Pilates or Yoga.... I picked up MTV Pilates a while ago at Walmart along with an exercise mat and at first it was hard (cause it's a lot of core muscle work AKA: Abs) but after a while it was easier and even fun. I noticed a change in just about my entire body... You don't have to join a gym to get the benefits of exercise... as I mentioned, you can do Pilates in the privacy of your own room if you want to be alone to work out... try adding in crunches/situps, leg raises...by ankle weights and walk with them on...
Eat healthy, drink lots of water and walk as that will help.
Cut out a lot of the snack foods that everybody loves...you know, the chocolate, chips, greasy foods... they're okay once in a while, but if you want to snack while watching tv, get some fruit or veggies.Good luck =)
First of all you have a misconception....motivation does not come before the action. You have to do the action THEN motivation follows. You do not have to go to a gym and "suffer" in order to get fit. Jump rope for 15-20 minutes a day....or...Walk for 1/2 an hour a day at a brisk pace...take a girl friend along for company. Don't eat late at night. Drink lots of water.That's it. See how easy that is? You can do it!
Find out from your doctor what clothing size is healthy for your height and buy a pair of pants or a shirt that is the healthy size - that will motivate you to exercise and it will show you your progress. Make sure that you would actually wear what you buy so that you can be excited about it :^) Good luck!
I was watching Rachel Ray's talk show about a month ago and there was a lady on there that was loosing weight.. Her motivation was that her friends and family bought the pounds she lost. It sounds weird now but let me explain.Ok so you go to your mom and say hey mom will you buy a pound from me? She says what? You say yeah mom I want to loose a pound and want to know if you will buy if from me. You explain that you need support and motivation. If she could buy one pound then you would have a reason to loose.
It doesn't have to be money really it could be that she will do your dishes on the next night it's your turn or she could say she will buy you a new shirt when you loose the pound.
You go to all your friends and family you can even go to your friends parents for support.
You pre-sale all your pounds out and write down what pound the person is buying. When you get down to their number that is when they pay you.That lady on the show said that some of her bought pounds gets her a day out, a clean kitchen, a hair cut, some are teaching her how to cook low fat meals, go walk with her to loose the pound they bought. all kinds of things....
this was just something to motivate you.. besides that you need to eat more meals a day... small meals but at least 6 and drink lots of water.
