Help in losing muscle!?

ok my muslce on my thighs are big because i used to play soccer. well now i just want my skinny legs back with not so much muscle. and i have no idea how to get rid of muscle...HELP PLEASE!
Answer:
to lose that type of muscle you want to weight train (light weight, high reps) your total body 3-4 times per week and do cardio 3-4 times per week for 30 minutes... eat normally and try to keep veggies and fruits high and fatty foods low... try to eat low glycemic index carbs and eat 5-6 times a day.... do this and your legs will slowly transform themselves into slender little legs that you want..
whatever you do, dont stop eating bc your body will keep the fat and lose the muscle (esp if you stop eating and not workout!) and will look 10X worse than now!
email me at daseib@yahoo.com for more info if you need it... my cousin is a soccer player and she hates her muscular legs too!! she plays in the big ten with tough girls with big legs
I personally think ithis is a very good question. We always see "how can I get more muscle?" but there are those of us that have too much in spots from sports and want to reduce it w/o it turning to fat!
try pilates, it lengthans muscles instead of bulking them up, to keep you inshape with out looking like a body builder.
Short answer: Restrict your calories and exercise only your upper body.Long answer:Muscles become smaller because of 1) atrophy and 2) when your body breaks down both muscle and fat because of dietary calorie restriction. You can't exercise a muscle to reduce it, but if you don't use it it will eventually grow smaller. Additionally, when you diet (i.e., you take in fewer calories than are required to maintain your current weight), your metabolism breaks down body mass to make up the deficit. Although adipose tissue (fat) is the primary storage mechanism, when you diet you lose both fat and muscle tissue. So the most effective way to reduce your muscle mass would be to diet and NOT exercise. However, since you want to reduce only your lower body size, it would be better to continue to exercise your upper body with activities such as rowing, swimming, or weight training, in order to keep your proportions and keep healthy.I have also heard people say that distance running will reduce the size of your leg muscles. I suspect that may be more anecdotal than anything, since there really isn't much exercise physiology to support it, but if you look at distance runners they are skinny, so maybe it works.Last thing: you could also try doing Pilates. Like I said, no exercise can reduce muscle size, but Pilates is known to give you a more long, toned look.
