HELP ME plz!!?

ok so im 16 and i want to lose weight, i am 5'1" and like 150-160 pounds. i was down to 140 and then i gained it back. i dont really eat bad, so i was wondering what the best way was to lose weight. would it be running in intervals. like run, walk, run, walk or what? also my love handles and hips are kinda big. or at least i think so. i look weird with a bathing suit on lets put it that way. i dont really think im fat or anything but i would like to get in shape for soccer and AAU (basketball). so what are the best ways to lose weight and get rid of my love handles/hips? thanks everyone

1. cardio
2. watching what you eat.
3. sit ups are good for hips
4. be active when ever you can
Watch your calories and just get out their and move. Do an excercise that you like and stick with it. Go and buy some 3 and 5 lb weights and do some strength training.
